Developed in the 1960’s as a response to the lack of “training” shoes to warm up, cool down or put easy miles in, the Trampas offered athletes arch support and padding in the heel collar to protect the Achilles. The Trampas would go on to become the standard shoe for the Finnish Olympic team and, later, due to its popularity, twenty US colleges followed.
Handmade in Italy, the Pop/Karhu Trampas comes in two colourways – Shocking Pink and Grunge – and features a renewed shape with reflective detailing on the heel and tongue, has a leather lining and branded insole. Each sneaker is finished with the signature Pop logo embroidered on the side.
Dropping on the 14th December, limited to 120 pairs, 60 in each colour, the Pop/Karhu Trampas will be available at both the Pop Amsterdam store and the Karhu Helsinki Flagship Store as well as online at poptradingcompany.com and karhu.com. Prices will retail at €150 / $170.
