KARHU MIDNIGHT SUN

Summers north of the Finnish Arctic Circle are truly spectacular, as the sun does not set completely from May until August. Under a clear sky, Finland offers the unique experience to see the sun shine all through the night. Karhu captures this phenomenon its release of the “Land of the Midnight Sun” pack.

The “Land of the Midnight Sun” collection consists of two popular Performance running shoes: the Ikoni and Fusion Ortix. The models’ colours are inspired by Finland’s twilight hours: glowing pink, glimmering orange, and blushing red against a landscape of still blue lakes and tree lined horizons.

The Ikoni is the first shoe built by the measurement data taken from over 100,000 individual 3D foot scans. Both the Ikoni and Fusion Ortix feature AeroFoam, Karhu’s proprietary midsole material provides a smoother, more cushioned transition. To help promote the launch, Karhu designed a running animation that explores Finland’s midnight surroundings.
