Karhu invented the first air cushion midsole back in the 1970s. It stirred attention and was copied by many prominent shoe companies. One of the most iconic air cushion models was the Albatross, a lightweight runner that was initially launched in 1982 and appealed to both men and women.

Karhu is an international brand and we ship to most countries in the EU. Your order is prepared for shipment on business days the next morning after you placed your order. Typically, the warehouse is able to manage and send out your order the same day, or the next morning after they start processing it! Currently we aren’t able to offer you express shipping in the EU. The transit times below are indications of the transit time after your order has left the warehouse. Please note that our European warehouse is located in the Netherlands. On local holidays our warehouse is closed.

Returns, Refunds and Exchanges 

We offer a 14 day return policy. If you choose to return for a refund, we'll provide a prepaid return-shipping label and a refund for the amount you paid for the returning item, minus a €5.00 restocking fee per return. The prepaid return-shipping label is included in your shipment (Except for Finland and France, for orders placed after 01-07-2020, please read details below), in case the return label is missing in your shipment, you must notify us at customerserviceEU@karhu.com within 14 days of the date the product was delivered to you. The returned product must be received by our facility within 21 days of the date the product was delivered to you. We will process your refund as soon as possible, after we have received the returned product, and within a maximum of 30 days.


All purchases done in stores, need to be returned at the store of purchase. We are not able to receive any returns of store bought products.

Please note that we do not offer product exchanges at this moment.

 

Returns from Switzerland & Norway:  

 

If you choose to make a return from Switzerland or Norway, you may choose any carrier for the return shipment. The shipment must be delivered to the address of our European warehouse (see below) for a refund. The returned product must be received by our facility within 21 days of the date the product was delivered to you and be in proper condition. We will process your refund as soon as we have the returned product and within a maximum of 30 days. 

 

When a customer would like to receive a refund, they must send the return shipment at their own cost (including duties and taxes) to the following return address:

Size guide

STEP 1

Place a piece of paper on the floor with one end against the wall. Put your foot on the piece of paper with your heel against the wall.

STEP 2

Take a pencil and mark the end of your longest toe on the paper. Repeat for your other foot.

STEP 3

Measure in cm from the wall (heel) to the longest point (toe). Take the larger measurements. Than take what you measured + 0.5 CM and compare it with our shoe sizes in the size chart.

These kicks are the absolute shizznit. Had my first pair of Karhu’s in the 80s so came full circle with the Albatross 82. Don’t even get me started on the colorway.

Lovely trainers but terrible customer service

The trainers are so nice and seem to be really good quality so far. My only issue is with the customer service I received from Karhu. After filling in my delivery address incorrectly I asked the chat on karhu’s website if it was possible to update the delivery address as it was only 4 hours after I placed the order and it hadn’t shipped yet. I was told at this point that it may be possible and that they would contact the warehouse and let me know. I heard nothing. So I emailed the customer service and got 1 line replies answering one of my questions, saying it was not possible to update the address. So I called and eventually got through to the US karhu customer service (even though it was the UK number) and they told me it WAS possible to update the address. Again, customer service by email said it wasn’t possible so finally I called again and got a Finnish customer service representative who still said it was not possible but still couldn’t tell me why and even argued with me that I wasn’t their only customer! Finally I said I would like to cancel the order if changing the delivery address was impossible and then the next thing I know, I receive an email from the courier saying the shipment was on its way to the correct, updated address. So it seems in the end it was possible to update the address but only after I spent all that time and frustration trying to do it!! Love Karhu trainers but please improve your customer service!!
